Our Story

Founded in 2018, Naver Z is the team behind ZEPETO, a global leader in the 3D metaverse – harnessing the power of the avatar to even the playing field for our primarily Gen Z user base to create, play, and grow their digital presence. Part social media, part digital marketplace, part game – using your ZEPETO avatar you can be part of and build something much larger than real life. 

The ZEPETO user base is over 200 million strong and located in nearly every country on the map – and we’re still actively growing. Our users are immensely creative (creating over 1.5 million items for sale within the ZEPETO ecosystem) and consistently raising the bar for how they can utilize ZEPETO to create their ideal virtual identity and universe.

Our team is made up of creators, community-builders, strategists, trendspotters (and setters), and digital innovators coming together from some of the top tech companies in the US.
